Job Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • Post-secondary culinary training preferred
  • Requires three to five years experience with kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Must be certified in Serve Safe Management certification course
  • Demonstrates team management, delegation, issue resolution and coaching skills
  • Demonstrates organization and multi-project time/issue management
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • Ability to converse comfortably with individuals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary culinary training preferred
  • Serve Safe Management certification required
  • Three to five years of experience in kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Strong team management and delegation skills
  • Ability to resolve issues and coach staff effectively
  • Excellent organizational and multi-project management skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and explain instructions and policies

Job Duties

  • Assist in supervising the day to day activities of kitchen staff
  • Assign responsibilities for specified work
  • Set deadlines to ensure timely completion of work
  • Promote safety and sanitation by inspecting all food handling and following HACCP procedures
  • Assist with menu planning, inventory, and managing supplies
  • Maintain effective cost control, service, and quality standards
  • Comply with company and franchise operation procedures and regulatory agency standards
  • Serve as a resource in resolving complex kitchen problems
  • Provide recommendations on hiring, firing, advancement, and promotion of kitchen associates
  • Maintain effective communication and positive associate relations including performance reviews and progressive discipline
  • Provide highest quality customer service including staff training to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality
