Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of related progressive experience or culinary graduate with minimum 2 years progressive hotel experience
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of health department and liquor laws and regulations
  • Ability to work long hours when required
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor
  • Communicate effectively with employees and guests
  • Able to listen, understand, and address concerns
  • Multitask and prioritize functions to meet deadlines
  • Attend hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Adhere to personal appearance and grooming standards

  • Work collaboratively with food and beverage managers

  • Check stations and food storage

  • Cut meat, poultry, and seafood appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary graduate with at least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of related progressive experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with health department rules and regulations
  • Understanding of liquor laws and regulations
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Leadership experience in food production and kitchen management

Job Duties

  • Ensure all meals are well prepared with regards to quality, consistency, eye appeal, taste, and food cost
  • Provide training and mentorship to kitchen staff
  • Meet corporate quality standards and enforce food specifications, portion control, recipes, and sanitation
  • Control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction
  • Monitor all phases of kitchen operations including hot and cold food preparation
  • Respond promptly to guest complaints and ensure compliance with health department regulations
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef on menu creation and implement corporate promotions
