Job Description
Suffolk is a prominent national enterprise recognized for its innovative approaches and substantial investments across the entire project lifecycle. Established as a leader in core construction management services, Suffolk extends its expertise to complementary sectors such as real estate investment, design, self-perform construction, and technology start-up investments through Suffolk Technologies. The company integrates cutting-edge technologies including data analytics, artificial intelligence, and advanced construction methodologies into its Seamless Platform. This platform connects design, construction, and operational processes, enabling smarter, more predictable outcomes that are transforming the standard of construction across America.
With annual revenues exceeding $9 billion, Suffolk employs over 3,000 professionals nationwide and operates out of 17 key offices including its headquarters in Boston and additional locations in New York City, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many others. The company has a strong reputation for managing some of the country’s most complex and transformative projects across diverse sectors like healthcare, life sciences, education, gaming, aviation, transportation, government, mission critical, and commercial industries. Founded by John Fish, Suffolk remains privately held and is currently ranked number eight on ENR’s list of "Top CM-at-Risk Contractors."
As part of its commitment to employee support and well-being, Suffolk offers a comprehensive total rewards program designed to provide physical, emotional, and financial support to employees and their families. This includes competitive salaries, auto allowances, access to market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, virtual care options, generous paid time off, a 401k plan with employer match, company-paid and voluntary life insurance, tax-deferred savings accounts, backup daycare days, short- and long-term disability coverage, and commuter benefits.
The role offered is for an AI Engineering professional to join Suffolk's project teams across the United States as an on-site catalyst driving the deployment and integration of artificial intelligence solutions in construction projects. This position is located in Temple, TX and focuses on turning AI concepts into real-world applications that enhance project workflows and operational efficiency. Working closely with project AI Champions such as Project Managers or Superintendents, the successful candidate will identify pain points, redesign workflows for maximum efficiency, and deploy AI agents that simplify and speed up essential construction processes like reporting, request for information (RFI) management, lookahead planning, progress updates, and materials tracking.
This role requires a proactive approach to evaluating current workflows and data maturity, installing market-leading AI tools, building rapid AI-agent prototypes on platforms like AWS Bedrock and ChatGPT Enterprise, and ensuring enterprise-grade engineering and compliance standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Operations Excellence, and AI Studios, the AI Engineer will cultivate a culture of innovation and operational excellence, applying principles of change enablement, stakeholder communication, and rigorous compliance with data governance and client confidentiality standards. The position demands flexibility to travel and work on active job sites while embracing evolving technologies that define the future of construction operations.
