Currently, the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join the culinary team at Shula’s Steak House. This role is critical in supporting both the hotel’s lunch service and the renowned Shula’s evening operations. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking, assembling dishes, and maintaining kitchen organization, ensuring every plate meets the high standards of quality and consistency expected by guests.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Capacity to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous line cook or prep cook experience required
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients, cook, and assemble dishes according to recipes and chef specifications
- Support lunch service operations for the hotel restaurant and banquet outlets as needed
- Complete prep work for Shula’s dinner line and assist with opening line setup
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely and consistent manner
- Restock ingredients and maintain organized workstations to support smooth kitchen operations
- Follow portion control standards and minimize waste to maintain food cost goals
- Set up and clean stations according to restaurant and kitchen protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and prep areas
- Comply with all sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
- Monitor quality and freshness of ingredients and products
- Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Line Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef
