Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for crafting the world’s finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections through every cup. Founded on the principle of creating a warm, welcoming space, Starbucks has established itself not just as a coffee retailer, but as a community hub where people from all walks of life can come together and share moments of connection. With thousands of stores worldwide, Starbucks emphasizes quality, customer service, and employee development, making it a preferred employer in the food service and retail sectors. The company’s commitment extends beyond coffee—Starbucks invests in its partners (employees) with industry-leading benefits, inclusive policies, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Starbucks’ culture is built on the values of respect, inclusion, and equity, ensuring a supportive workplace that celebrates diversity and promotes well-being for every partner and their families.

The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is pivotal in maintaining the high standards and welcoming atmosphere the brand is known for. This position involves leading with both craft and heart, guiding the team to deliver exceptional service and coffee experiences that brighten customers’ days. Shift Supervisors play a critical role in operational success by managing store activities during their shifts, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring compliance with Starbucks’ standards for quality, food safety, cash handling, and store security. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate a team effectively, and a passion for creating meaningful customer interactions. It requires flexibility, as shift schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays to meet customer needs.

Starbucks recognizes the importance of ongoing development and growth within this role. As a Shift Supervisor, partners receive continuous training and support to enhance their leadership abilities and operational knowledge. This position offers a unique opportunity to build key skills in team management, customer service, and retail operations within a globally respected brand. Starbucks also places strong emphasis on inclusivity and equal opportunity, welcoming candidates from diverse backgrounds and accommodating those with disabilities to ensure everyone can thrive in the role.

Moreover, Starbucks provides comprehensive benefits to support their partners’ health, financial security, and educational ambitions. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, paid parental leave, vacation and sick leave accrual, holiday pay, a 401(k) plan with employer match, equity programs, and tuition coverage for degree programs. This holistic approach to employee well-being reinforces Starbucks’ reputation as an employer that truly cares about the success and happiness of its partners.

Joining Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor means becoming part of a team dedicated to excellence and community impact, where leadership is as much about inspiring others as it is about operational efficiency. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic work environment, opportunities for advancement, and a chance to contribute to one of the most beloved coffee brands in the world.
