Job Description
The Restaurant Zone is a premier hospitality recruitment agency that specializes in connecting exceptional talent with leading restaurants, hotels, and hospitality groups across the United States. With a reputation built on industry expertise and a comprehensive network, The Restaurant Zone partners with both emerging brands and well-established operators to provide high-quality candidates for management, executive, and specialized hospitality roles. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in a results-driven approach that prioritizes speed, precision, and long-term success for both employers and job seekers.
Currently, The Restaurant Zone is recruiting for a dynamic Service Manager to join a high-volume, modern full-service restaurant located in the vibrant Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. This role is perfect for a proactive, hands-on leader with a passion for guest hospitality and team development, thriving in fast-paced environments. The Service Manager will lead front-of-house operations, working closely with the entire team to elevate service standards and promote a high level of professionalism and guest satisfaction.
The position demands an individual with a strong floor presence who can manage daily shift operations, including creating floor plans, conducting pre-shift meetings, and stepping in as Maitre D or providing service support during peak times. Beyond leadership, the role emphasizes staff mentorship, encouraging accountability, and cultivating a positive, supportive team culture that drives retention and growth. An essential element of the position involves enhancing the beverage program through training and motivation, with a particular focus on wine and spirits knowledge. The Service Manager also acts as a vital liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring smooth service flow and seamless guest accommodations.
A hands-on approach to guest interaction is expected, including active engagement with patrons to handle any service recovery professionally and capture valuable feedback contributing to the building of a loyal customer base. Attention to operational details such as opening and closing procedures, environmental settings like lighting and audio, and strict adherence to NYC health and safety regulations is critical for maintaining the venue's high standards.
Ideal candidates will bring at least one year of restaurant management experience within a fast-paced, upscale full-service setting, coupled with proficiency in POS systems and reservation management software. An active NYC Food Protection Certificate is mandatory, alongside proven skills in beverage sales and structured staff training in wine and spirits. Exceptional communication abilities, calmness under pressure, and strong conflict-resolution skills are vital qualities for success in this role. Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, rounds out the requirements.
This role not only offers the opportunity to influence the guest experience in a vibrant community but also to grow professionally within a career-minded environment supported by comprehensive benefits and advancement opportunities. If you have NYC fine-dining experience and a commitment to excellence in front-of-house management, this is an exciting chance to make an impact with a respected establishment through The Restaurant Zone.
