The position is located at The Joule hotel in downtown Dallas, Texas. The Joule is a notable neo-Gothic landmark originally constructed in the 1920s as the Dallas National Bank, dominating the city skyline during Dallas's golden era of banking and oil discoveries. Once facing decline, the building underwent significant redevelopment, transforming into a luxurious Forbes four-star boutique hotel since its opening in 2008. The Joule has evolved into a cultural, shopping, and dining hub playing a pivotal role in revitalizing downtown Dallas.

The Server role at The Joule is pivotal in delivering an exceptional dining experience characterized by refined service, expert menu knowledge, and anticipatory hospitality. This role demands grace, precision, and adherence to luxury service standards to make every guest feel genuinely welcomed and valued. As a Server, one is responsible for professional guest interactions from the moment of arrival until departure, ensuring the service consistently mirrors the hotel’s elevated brand reputation. Candidates for this hourly position will be expected to present menus expertly, guide guests through their food and beverage choices, take precise orders accommodating dietary needs, and provide elegant table service that includes proper courses and wine presentation. The position calls for the maintenance of impeccable table settings, seamless coordination with culinary and bar teams, monitoring guest satisfaction, and ensuring cleanliness and organization of service areas at all times. The server will also handle payment processing following established procedures. This role requires flexibility to work during nights, weekends, and holidays, along with the physical capability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Previous restaurant or customer service experience and familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards are preferred but not mandatory. Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally providing an engaging and polished first impression
  • present menus describe daily features and guide guests through food and beverage selections
  • encourage upselling or menu items according to guest preferences to maximize average ticket
  • take accurate orders accommodating dietary restrictions allergies and personalized preferences
  • execute elegant table service aligned with luxury dining standards such as proper courses wine presentation and table maintenance
  • ensure all dishes and beverages are delivered with correct timing temperature and presentation
  • maintain immaculate table settings clear reset and prepare tables with precision and efficiency
  • monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience anticipating needs and adjusting service accordingly
  • process payments accurately and follow all POS and cash-handling procedures
  • communicate seamlessly with the culinary bar and support teams to ensure flawless service flow
  • uphold cleanliness organization and sanitation of the dining room side stations and service areas
  • perform other duties as requested by management
