The Server position at Grand Living is an integral role within this upscale environment, focused on enhancing the dining experience for residents, family members, and guests. Scheduled for a Monday through Saturday shift from 11 am to 8 pm, the Server supports culinary efforts across multiple dining venues including the Bistro, Casual and Formal dining areas, Luminations® memory care dining, and the exclusive Club Room. This role also includes participation in special events and private functions.

The Server operates under the general guidance of the Executive Chef and Dining Room Supervisor, adhering closely to the community’s standards, processes, procedures, and philosophies. This means maintaining the Sterling Touch® – a hallmark of professional, courteous, friendly, and timely service – ensuring high satisfaction levels among all diners. The Server’s responsibilities go beyond table service to include assisting with culinary activities while providing a memorable dining atmosphere that meets the elevated expectations of homeowners in a luxury senior living setting.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One year of serving experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with employees and residents
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment and utensils including knives, spoons, spatulas and slicers
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
