Job Description
ShipEX is a leading transportation and logistics company founded in 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the past decade, ShipEX has grown from a single truck operation to a major player in the freight transportation industry with a fleet of over 350 power units and more than 360 new 53-foot refrigerated trailers. Specializing in temperature-controlled and dry freight services, ShipEX focuses heavily on the safe handling and delivery of sensitive materials such as medical pharmaceutical supplies, frozen foods, refrigerated produce, and household goods. The company’s commitment to safety, reliability, and technology-driven service has earned it a respected position among clients needing precise and timely freight transportation.
ShipEX’s Last Mile Division in Texas, based in Aledo, is known for its airport expedite freight delivery services and medical supply routes. This division manages complex delivery tasks involving small parcels as well as un-palletized bulky items, ensuring that the middle and final mile of shipments are handled with utmost care and efficiency. The company uses the latest technology for order processing, navigation, and delivery documentation, promoting high standards of safety and compliance.
The Delivery Driver role at ShipEX Last Mile is a critical position that combines driving expertise with technological proficiency and physical agility. Candidates must be adept at operating sprinter vans and 26 ft box trucks, handling digital documentation through phone or tablet applications, and performing vehicle inspections along with maintaining compliance logs. Proficiency with manual and electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, and securing freight is required to ensure goods are managed safely and efficiently throughout the delivery process. Deliveries span various environments, requiring drivers to be comfortable with diverse conditions and adaptable to route planning technologies and freight handling equipment.
This is a full-time position based in Aledo, Texas, offering a competitive starting salary of $60,000 yearly ($1154 weekly) plus substantial monthly bonuses. ShipEX values dependable, safety-conscious professionals who can work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. The role includes standard Monday to Friday shifts with possibilities for weekend coverage and overtime routes, including overnight shifts in the future. Benefits include comprehensive medical and supplemental insurance packages, attractive 401k matching, driver safety awards, and performance bonuses.
ShipEX is more than just a transportation company; it is a community that supports growth and excellence among its drivers and employees. The company’s advanced fleet comprises modern Freightliner Cascadia and Volvo 780 trucks from 2017 and 2018 models, ensuring a comfortable and efficient driving experience. Unlike pay-per-mile systems, ShipEX guarantees pay continuity even when drivers face delays, offering financial stability and peace of mind.
Ideal candidates for the delivery driver position are at least 24 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and have a minimum of three years of commercial driving experience with box trucks or delivery vans. A valid Class D driver’s license is required, with a preferred Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement. Additional credentials such as a valid DOT medical card, mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections (DVIR), TWIC certification in DFW, and forklift certification or experience are advantageous. Candidates must pass background checks and drug tests, have clean driving records, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Military veterans are encouraged to apply, provided they meet the hiring criteria.
Joining ShipEX delivers an opportunity to be part of a fast-growing transportation service with a focus on quality, safety, and technology. Delivery drivers will play a vital role in upholding the company’s values and ensuring that ShipEX continues to lead in temperature-controlled and dry freight logistics, providing exceptional service and value to its customers.
