Job Description

Sizzler, a popular casual dining restaurant known for its diverse menu offerings including salads, steaks, and seafood, is seeking dedicated individuals to join their kitchen team as Salad Bar Team Members. With a longstanding reputation for quality food and friendly service, Sizzler prides itself on preparing fresh, delicious meals in a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. Established as a beloved neighborhood restaurant, Sizzler operates multiple locations with a focus on providing an enjoyable dining experience for families, friends, and individuals alike. The company emphasizes maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and customer satisfaction, making it a preferred employer for those eager to develop their culinary skills and contribute to a vibrant restaurant atmosphere.

The Salad Bar Team Member is a critical role responsible for preparing and producing a variety of fresh food and menu items using approved recipes and standards, especially focused on salads and associated dishes. This position requires adherence to sanitation and safety standards, ensuring all ingredients and preparation areas maintain quality and cleanliness. The role involves routine tasks such as washing, cutting, and cooking fresh produce and proteins suitable for salads, as well as setting up and maintaining the salad bar to keep it fresh, attractive, and organized throughout the day. Team members also assist in preparing salad dressings and sauces based on daily production requirements, utilizing both manual and electric kitchen equipment efficiently. Beyond their primary duties, employees in this role may be assigned to work in other departments or take on special projects that support the broader operational needs of the restaurant. Sizzler promotes a "Here to Help" mentality, emphasizing cross-department collaboration and excellent guest service to handle difficult situations and improve the overall dining experience.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to quality and safety. Teamwork is highly valued, with an expectation to support colleagues and contribute positively to a diverse and respectful workplace. The company maintains clear policies and procedures that reinforce organizational values, professionalism, and responsibility. As part of their ongoing commitment to food safety, Sizzler requires all team members to be certified according to local jurisdiction standards such as possessing a valid California Food Handlers Card. Physical demands include regular standing, using hands for preparation, lifting of up to 50 pounds, and occasional bending or crouching. The work environment is dynamic, with exposure to mechanical parts, sharp objects, open flames, and varying temperature conditions, requiring adaptability and a focus on safety at all times. This full-time or part-time position offers a chance to build a career in food service within a company that values its employees and customers equally.
