Known for its commitment to providing quality products, services, and expert advice, PetSmart has become a trusted destination for pet care. The company is passionate about meeting the needs of pets and their families with a broad range of merchandise including pet food, supplies, grooming, training, and adoption services. With a workforce of approximately 50,000 associates, PetSmart fosters a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and growth, empowering its employees to deliver exceptional customer experiences and to pursue career advancement opportunities within the company.

This position entails a shared responsibility to drive operational excellence while supporting the company’s vision, mission, values, and business strategy. As a Retail Operations Lead, the incumbent will play a dynamic role overseeing merchandising and inventory control, managing pet care operations, and supporting the daily opening and closing procedures of the store. This position does not carry direct reports but requires guiding and motivating sales associates, providing training on product knowledge, task delegation, and ensuring compliance with PetSmart’s policies and procedures.

This leadership role demands a strong focus on the associate experience by facilitating onboarding, mentoring, and coaching to foster growth and enhance performance. In addition, the Retail Operations Lead is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized retail environment that reflects PetSmart’s brand standards. The role includes managing inventory through regular audits and sales trend analysis, operating point-of-sale systems with accuracy, and ensuring an excellent customer journey through the seamless fulfillment of online and in-store orders.

Crucially, the Retail Operations Lead ensures the health and well-being of pets in store care by adhering to established commitment standards related to cleaning, feeding, and monitoring new or sick pets. Prompt actions are expected if any health concerns arise with store animals, including transport to veterinary care if necessary. The role demands adaptability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail setting.

PetSmart offers competitive benefits such as weekly pay, health and wellness programs, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off for full-time associates, associate discounts, tuition assistance, career pathing, and development opportunities. This hourly-paid position requires flexible full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a commitment to delivering memorable moments that affirm PetSmart's motto: Anything for Pets. With a workplace that values diversity and inclusion, PetSmart invites passionate pet lovers to apply and join their caring, motivated team, dedicated to creating meaningful moments for pets and their families every day.
