Job Description

Whataburger is a beloved American fast-food restaurant chain known for its iconic, made-to-order burgers and commitment to quality, customer service, and community values. Founded in 1950, Whataburger has grown from a single location in Texas to a widely recognized brand with restaurants across multiple states, maintaining a strong focus on creating memorable dining experiences for its guests. As a company, Whataburger prides itself on fostering a culture of teamwork, integrity, and leadership development. With competitive compensation and numerous career advancement opportunities, Whataburger offers a rewarding environment for individuals passionate about the food service industry and customer satisfaction.

The Restaurant Manager role at Whataburger is a dynamic leadership position that requires overseeing high-volume restaurant operations that generate average annual sales exceeding $4 million. Typically leading teams of more than fifty Family Members, the Restaurant Manager is instrumental in cultivating a work environment where great food, exceptional service, and collaborative teamwork converge every day. This role involves a comprehensive rotation through various areas of responsibility, including customer engagement, quality control, and people management, building well-rounded skills critical to success in restaurant operations and preparing for future leadership positions such as Operating Partner. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, fostering team development, maintaining brand standards, and supporting business goals across sales, labor, food cost, and profitability.

A key element of this role is the commitment to servant leadership - where managers serve their teams with heart, enhance operational performance, and model Whataburger's core values. The position offers competitive weekly pay, a bonus program with significant upside potential, paid time off including holidays, paid parental leave, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Additional perks include a 401(k) match with up to 4% contribution, scholarship programs for dependents, hardship grant assistance, and access to education benefits such as free English-language learning and reduced college tuition pathways. Team members also enjoy discounted meals, wireless service discounts, fitness discounts, awards and recognition programs, and more. The role demands flexibility in working hours and the physical stamina to meet the demands of a fast-paced restaurant environment. Overall, this role not only offers a challenging and rewarding career path but also the opportunity to be a part of a team that values integrity, innovation, and community impact.
