Job Description
The New Leader in Training (NLT) Program is a prestigious 12-month, cohort-based leadership development track designed specifically for motivated hospitality professionals looking to elevate their careers into restaurant management roles. This transformative program is offered by a leading and rapidly growing NYC restaurant group, known for its commitment to operational excellence, strong guest experiences, and nurturing talent within the hospitality industry. The restaurants within this group are distinguished for their vibrant atmospheres, exceptional service standards, and dedication to creating memorable dining experiences while fostering a culture of continuous learning and leadership cultivation. This program is an immersive, hands-on experience that goes far beyond traditional shadowing or theoretical training, ensuring that participants take on real responsibilities from the outset and develop the core competencies necessary to manage a successful restaurant operation independently.
As the hospitality industry gears up for its busiest season, the New Leader in Training Program is actively seeking talented and passionate managers who demonstrate leadership potential and a deep love for hospitality to join its ranks. Participants will rotate through three different NYC restaurant locations to gain broad exposure across all aspects of restaurant operations — from front-of-house customer service to back-of-house operational management. This rotating system is designed to expose trainees to the dynamic challenges of running multiple restaurant environments and help build a comprehensive understanding of both guest relations and operational fundamentals.
NLT Managers will be fully integrated into daily operations, leading shifts, managing teams, and overseeing critical functions such as scheduling, labor and food cost management, as well as guest recovery and adherence to service standards. The program includes structured coursework and leadership training modules that cover critical topics including company culture, people management, profit and loss fundamentals, and operational excellence principles. In addition, participants will complete hands-on special projects and undergo quarterly development reviews to track progress and foster continuous improvement.
On successful completion of the program, graduates are placed into permanent management roles within the NYC restaurant group, equipped with the skills, confidence, and operational fluency required for independent restaurant leadership. The program offers not only a competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $85,000, supplemented by quarterly bonuses, but also comprehensive health insurance benefits, paid time off, and direct mentorship from seasoned General Managers and senior leadership. This is a unique opportunity to launch a fulfilling on-site restaurant management career with a respected brand prioritizing employee growth and a supportive learning environment.
Overall, this program is ideal for individuals with at least one year of hospitality experience, who have a proven track record of delivering excellent guest service, demonstrate strong leadership potential, and possess a desire to learn all facets of restaurant operations. Flexibility to work varying shifts across multiple NYC locations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and commitment to the full 12-month term are essential. For those ready to advance their hospitality career through a structured, real-world leadership pathway, this program offers unparalleled resources and guidance to flourish and establish a long-term career within one of New York City's most dynamic restaurant groups.
