The role of General Manager I at HMSHost is a crucial leadership position responsible for overseeing the operation of a quick-service restaurant (QSR) or a small cluster of restaurants. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing QSR or similar restaurants
  • demonstrated P&L management for a minimum of 3 years
  • overall restaurant working experience of 5 to 7 years
  • graduation from a food service management or culinary program may substitute some experience

  • ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • knowledge of HMSHost policies and operational standards or ability to learn quickly

  • ability to read, comprehend instructions, and converse effectively with diverse individuals

Job Duties

  • Open and close the restaurant, ensure all closing and opening checklist requirements are met
  • deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability, prepare schedules, ensure all shifts are covered
  • provide coaching, support, and encouragement to restaurant staff
  • interview, hire, terminate, promote, and manage associates
  • oversee onboarding and offboarding activities, ensure compliance with training and badging requirements
  • read and analyze financial and operational reports, assign associates to meet business goals
  • recognize and motivate staff performance using company tools
  • ensure product availability and proper inventory management
  • oversee receiving goods, process invoices, resolve supply chain issues
  • maintain and schedule repairs for restaurant equipment
  • participate in company audits and food donation programs
  • assess skill levels and conduct or coordinate training
  • embrace and promote new technology
  • maintain knowledge of brand standards, collective bargaining agreements, and landlord lease requirements
  • develop and implement strategies to increase revenue
  • manage daily activities of associates
  • resolve customer and associate issues using discretion
  • implement marketing programs per company directives
  • maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation laws
  • train managers and staff on wellness and safety protocols
