Job Description

This job opening is with a franchisee of Taco Bell located at 1214 Avenida Cesar Chavez in Monterey Park, CA. Unlike positions directly with Taco Bell Corp. or its affiliates, employment here is with the independent franchise owner. As an independent business owner, this franchisee operates with their own wage and benefit programs, which may differ from other Taco Bell franchise locations. This creates a unique environment where individual management styles influence both compensation and employee benefits. This position offers a competitive pay range of $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, providing a solid opportunity for career progression within the restaurant management field.

Taco Bell is renowned as a leading fast-food restaurant chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine. The franchisee business model offers aspiring restaurant leaders a chance to gain hands-on experience managing all facets of daily restaurant operations. The Taco Bell Restaurant General Manager role is pivotal in driving the success of the store by creating a positive and hospitable customer experience. As the key leader of the TEAM, the General Manager sets the tone of the work environment and models exemplary customer service, ensuring guests consistently receive great food paired with friendly service.

The General Manager has broad responsibilities ranging from staffing, training, scheduling, team development, customer issue resolution, and financial management. This role demands strong leadership skills to build a motivated and high-performing team that upholds Taco Bell’s standards of quality and hospitality. Key tasks include recruiting, hiring, and training new staff members, as well as overseeing the ongoing development of employees to foster growth and engagement. Orientation programs and personalized training plans are crafted by the General Manager to set up new hires for success.

Scheduling requires a strategic approach to ensure the restaurant deployment matches customer traffic patterns and maximizes labor efficiency. Performance management is an essential part of the job, involving coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when necessary to maintain high team standards. Additionally, the General Manager acts as a problem-solver for customer concerns, striving to turn any negative experiences into satisfied and loyal patrons.

Financial acumen is equally important, as the manager is responsible for budget adherence and meeting financial targets. This requires proficiency in basic business math and accounting skills, as well as analytical decision-making to optimize operational costs and profitability. Physical activity is also a component of the role, with duties including maintaining cleanliness standards and performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, lifting, and grounds maintenance.

Candidates interested in this role should have a minimum educational background of a high school diploma or GED, with college education preferred. Previous supervisory experience in food service or retail environments, particularly with profit and loss responsibility, is critical. Experience as an Assistant General Manager within the organization is highly valued, reflecting a preference to promote internally. Reliable transportation and passing the background check criteria are mandatory.

This role is an excellent pathway for individuals seeking a rewarding career in fast-food restaurant management, offering opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed in a dynamic and customer-oriented environment. Taco Bell’s franchisee is committed to supporting its General Managers with training and development opportunities that can lead to further advancement within the brand’s expansive network.
