Job Description

We are currently hiring for the position of Assistant Manager (AM) in front of the house operations, a critical role that helps drive the success and smooth functioning of our restaurant. The Assistant Manager at Gen Alhambra works closely with the General Manager to lead and inspire the front of house team, including servers, bartenders, food runners, bussers, and hosts. This position is ideal for motivated individuals with 1 to 3 years of restaurant leadership experience who are eager to grow their skills and advance professionally.
The role of the AM is multifaceted, requiring a firm understanding of front of house operations such as payroll management, scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and team supervision. The Assistant Manager acts as a mentor and coach, ensuring that each team member provides excellent customer service through proper greetings, menu introductions, and attentive table visits. This person is instrumental in maintaining high standards of service and operational consistency that uphold the restaurant's reputation.
In addition to leadership and customer service duties, the Assistant Manager oversees inventory processes by conducting physical product counts, generating detailed reports, and forecasting usage. They assist in controlling food costs by analyzing costs alongside the General Manager and preparing justification reports, ensuring that expenses meet or exceed company standards. The management of food invoices and supervision of deliveries are key responsibilities, maintaining accurate logs and timely submissions to accounting.
The AM is also involved in staffing and human resources functions, including recruiting, interviewing, selecting qualified employees, and assisting in their orientation and ongoing training. This role requires maintaining compliance with sanitation and safety standards in accordance with local laws and company policies. Monitoring equipment maintenance and security procedures also falls under the Assistant Manager's scope.

- 1-3 years of restaurant leadership experience
- ServSafe certification
- experience in kitchen management or supervision
- knowledge of payroll and scheduling
- strong communication and mentorship skills

Job Duties
- Conduct and report physical products inventory
- elaborate reports and forecast usage
- work with General Manager to analyze food cost and prepare justification report
- control food cost to meet or exceed the standard
- review and monitor food invoices ensuring timely submission to Accounting
- supervise receiving orders and keep a log upon delivery
- monitor and control food waste
- help to ensure appropriate staffing plan and maintain adequate staffing and scheduling levels
- perform recruiting, interviewing and selecting qualified employees for the kitchen
- assist with orientation and training of new employees
- ensure accurate and timely submission of back of the House employee time and attendance for payroll processing
- provide input for salary administration
- ensure effective employee relations
- maintain all kitchen sanitation levels to comply with local laws and company standards
- monitor safety and security procedures
- ensure kitchen equipment effective maintenance
