This full-time, non-exempt position has a set schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, covering 37.5 hours per week, with a wage set at $19.08 per hour. The integrated nature of this position requires the individual to manage both residential and medical responsibilities, ensuring seamless coordination of care and services.

In the capacity of Residential Counselor, the incumbent will assist individuals with essential activities including toileting, transferring, grooming, hygiene, meal preparation based on prescribed menus, and participation in recreational and community activities. A key component of the role involves active participation in the interdisciplinary care team, contributing to the evaluation and implementation of individual care plans and goals. Maintaining accurate records, including health data, behavioral logs, and medication counts is essential. Other key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean living environment, administering medications, and responding promptly to any changes in an individual's health or behavior.

As a Medical Assistant, the individual will play a critical role in managing medical appointments, maintaining up-to-date medical records, and ensuring compliance with prescribed medical treatments. This includes scheduling and escorting individuals to appointments, facilitating transportation, and liaising with medical professionals to streamline communication and care coordination. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, monitoring medication inventories, and assisting with health-related documentation. Collaboration with registered nurses and residential supervisors is vital to meet medical follow-up needs and staffing requirements.

The position demands an individual with excellent organizational skills, effective communication abilities in English, and proficiency with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word. The role also requires physical stamina and strength to perform transfers, assist with mobility, and manage emergency situations effectively. A valid New York State driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory as travel between different locations throughout the metropolitan area is a regular part of the job.

Job Requirements

  • valid New York State driver’s license and proof of driving history showing three years of current driving experience with no more than one moving violation in the previous 24 months and no DUI convictions
  • performs all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate compliance program
  • adheres to code of business conduct and mandatory reporting
  • completes corporate compliance training annually
  • fully cooperates in corporate compliance investigations and reviews

Job Duties

  • reviews ongoing health documentation
  • coordinates staffing for clinic appointments
  • performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse
