Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- bilingual in English and Spanish
- proficiency in computer usage and basic software applications
- ability to work in cold environments (below 40 degrees Fahrenheit)
- ability to lift or push a minimum of 25 lbs
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- problem-solving skills
- flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- willingness to train hourly employees as needed
- previous food industry or quality assurance experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- bi-lingual in English and Spanish
- proficient in using computers and basic software such as Microsoft Office
- ability to create and maintain trending charts and SOPs
- experience using calculators, weight scales, thermometers, metal detectors, ATP testing equipment, and mechanical food portioning and processing equipment
- previous food industry and quality assurance experience is a plus
- strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- ability to work in fast-paced environments with large groups
- flexibility to work weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Maintain and initiate all recordkeeping and key performance indicators pertinent to the Quality Department and GQS including food safety, sanitation, regulatory agencies compliance and customer requirements
- daily monitor of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for compliance
- verify cooler and freezer room temperatures for compliance
- perform environmental swabs and microbiological sampling and submit to local laboratory for analysis
- obtain Chef Table samples to verify compliance to specification
- assist the Quality Manager in training and daily initiatives addressing quality, food safety, and sanitation issues
- conduct work station inspections to verify compliance with standards including gold standard verification, specifications, sanitizer use, food temperatures, HACCP documentation, and proper PHF setup
- conduct portion control weight compliance checks
- conduct inspection checks of dispatch, galley, non-bonded, bonded, and equipment
- verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs and documents are accurately completed daily
- create charts, trending reports, training materials, and visuals
- maintain, monitor standards and train employees in compliance with Regulated Garbage Standards for USDA requirements
- support Jump-off commissary locations with oversight
- train hourly employees as needed
- perform other tasks as requested
