Job Description
D&S Community Services, a respected division within the Sevita family, specializes in providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sevita is a nationally recognized organization with a proud legacy spanning over 50 years, embracing a mission that champions the right of every individual to live well and independently. With a dedicated team of 40,000 professionals, Sevita supports approximately 50,000 individuals throughout the United States, ensuring personalized care and meaningful support that fosters growth and fulfillment. The organization believes that every person deserves not only quality services tailored to their unique needs but also the opportunity to contribute to and engage with their communities in enriching and positive ways.
Joining D&S Community Services means becoming part of a mission-driven team where your work has a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of others. The role of Program Supervisor is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position primarily focused on supervisory responsibilities within a program or unit supporting individuals in residential, vocational, or day settings. Supervisors typically oversee programs serving from 4 to 15 individuals, providing a blend of direct support, professional activities, and leadership.
As a Program Supervisor, you'll play a crucial part in managing frontline Direct Support Professionals, ensuring the seamless delivery of person-centered plans, health care protocols, and regulatory compliance. This position demands flexibility, with supervisors working approximately 8 to 16 hours weekly in a supervisory capacity while dedicating remaining hours to direct support duties. Your leadership will influence various facets of program operation including health care oversight, advocacy, customer engagement, environmental safety, and financial management.
Your responsibilities will extend to fostering positive relationships with individuals served, their families, and other stakeholders to maintain a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Working closely with Program Directors, you'll contribute to program planning, compliance adherence, recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff. You'll oversee critical documentation processes such as incident reporting, billing accuracy, and census management to ensure quality services are consistently upheld.
The role also includes managing the physical environment of residential settings, including maintenance and safety protocols, vehicle operations, dietary planning, and equipment upkeep. You will lead efforts in staff scheduling, training verification, and enforcing company standards for customer service and safety. As a leader, you will address personnel matters ranging from coaching and discipline to employee safety and workers' compensation concerning program employees.
This position suits individuals who are passionate about making a difference, possess strong leadership and organizational skills, and demonstrate a high degree of responsibility and compassion. The Program Supervisor will thrive in a supportive work atmosphere that values innovation, respect, and inclusivity. As part of Sevita and D&S Community Services, you will join a forward-thinking team dedicated to enriching lives and creating careers worth living. This employment opportunity offers a rewarding career path where you can contribute to shaping the futures of those you support, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth and development in a respected health care environment.
