Job Description

Clyde's Restaurant Group is a prominent and respected collection of 14 unique dining concepts located throughout the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) area. Established in 1963, the group has built a well-deserved reputation for exceptional guest service and cultivating a positive and inclusive work culture for all employees. Their portfolio features noteworthy establishments such as Clyde's, Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, 1789 Restaurant, Fitzgerald's, The Tombs, Rye Street Tavern, Cordelia Fishbar, Hamilton Live, and the eagerly anticipated Ebbitt House, set to open in Summer 2026 in Reston Station on the Silver Metro Line.

Ebbitt House, as a sister concept to the historic Old Ebbitt Grill, is poised to bring iconic American classics, twice-daily happy hours, an oyster-fueled raw bar, and stunning seafood displays to its guests. This exciting new restaurant venture aims to make waves in the culinary scene, and in preparation, Clyde's Restaurant Group is actively building their opening team.

The role being offered is for a Pastry Cook at Ebbitt House, with a competitive hourly pay rate ranging from $18 to $21 per hour. This position is ideal for hardworking, attentive individuals who are driven by hospitality and have a desire to excel while maintaining the highest level of service standards. The role is structured to accommodate part-time, full-time, and on-call shifts, providing flexible scheduling options to suit various lifestyle needs.

As a Pastry Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen team by preparing delectable pastries and desserts that meet the high quality and presentation standards that Clyde's is known for. Your duties will encompass everything from handling raw ingredients—washing, peeling, slicing fruits and vegetables—to operating commercial food processors and ovens. You will be responsible for preparing batters and dough using mixers, accurately portioning pastry items, labeling and dating prepped products, and ensuring all prep areas and equipment are meticulously cleaned and maintained.

Clyde's Restaurant Group puts a strong emphasis on training and career development. New team members will benefit from comprehensive classroom and on-premises training designed to hone their skills and promote professional growth. Furthermore, employees enjoy a supportive and respectful workplace culture that values courtesy and dignity, and offers numerous employee benefits such as a generous 401k plan with competitive matching, medical/dental/vision plans, access to wellness resources, an Employee Assistance Program, meal and restaurant discounts, and opportunities for rapid career advancement.

At Clyde's, the commitment to inclusivity means they warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage all qualified individuals—even those who might not meet every listed requirement—to apply. This open and supportive approach is part of their long-standing dedication to building a diverse and positive team environment. Additionally, Clyde's participates in the federal E-Verify program to ensure all new hires are authorized to work in the United States.

If you have a passion for pastry arts, a commitment to excellence, and are ready to be part of a high-energy, well-established restaurant group, this Pastry Cook position at Ebbitt House offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team in a landmark new venue. Apply today and embark on a rewarding culinary career with Clyde's Restaurant Group.
