Job Description
Gensco, Inc. is an established HVAC wholesale distributor and manufacturer with over 75 years of success in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates extensively across Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska, with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding service and value to its customers. With a team of more than 1,000 dedicated members, Gensco prides itself on not only providing top-quality products and services but also fostering opportunities for growth and job satisfaction among its employees. The company upholds a mission to deliver quality products and services correctly the first time and every time, while simultaneously ensuring job satisfaction and opportunity for all team members. Their corporate culture emphasizes collaboration, individual success, and collective achievement in a positive working environment.
The opportunity currently available is for an Outside Sales Representative specializing in HVAC supplies, focusing primarily on servicing new and established accounts within the Eastern Region covering Missoula, Montana, Polson, Bitterroot Valley, and some surrounding areas. This role entails diverse responsibilities related to commercial and residential HVAC sales and requires a candidate who is proactive and motivated to develop client relationships and grow the business in this territory.
As an Outside Sales Representative at Gensco, the successful candidate will perform a broad range of duties centered around customer development, value engineering support, system design assistance, and sales-related support. This position involves introducing and selling HVAC supplies to both residential and commercial contractors, targeting potential customers and proactively developing new accounts. The role also demands skills in bidding jobs, producing accurate quotes, processing orders efficiently, and providing technical product information to support customer decisions.
Gensco offers competitive compensation starting with a guaranteed salary during the initial 3 to 24 months, ranging from $60,000 to $70,000 annually based on work experience. Following this period, compensation transitions to an incentive-based plan with a monthly salary guarantee of $1,000 alongside uncapped commission potential. Benefits include a company vehicle equipped with dashcam technology, a gas card, cellular phone, laptop, and iPad, reflecting Gensco's commitment to providing their sales team with the tools needed for success. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided, ensuring new hires are well-prepared and continuously supported in their role.
The position operates within a structured day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for focused and consistent customer engagement. Employees must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driving record, given the travel requirements to multiple facilities and potential overnight stays. The role requires strong negotiation and presentation skills, creative thinking to identify sales opportunities, decision-making abilities, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Gensco emphasizes safety and accountability, equipping all company vehicles with dual-facing dashcam technology to ensure the wellbeing of both their team members and the public. The company fosters a culture that rewards proactive, self-motivated individuals who approach challenges positively and through strong time and people management, can succeed in a competitive sales environment.
In addition to competitive pay, Gensco provides an extensive and comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision), discretionary profit-sharing opportunities, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Employees also enjoy six paid holidays with two additional floating holidays, paid vacation that accrues by tenure, tuition reimbursement for higher education, life insurance including voluntary supplemental plans, long-term and short-term disability options, and access to an employee assistance program. This robust benefits offering demonstrates Gensco's commitment to employee well-being, career development, and financial security.
