Job Description
Hotel Contessa is an intimate, all-suite retreat located directly on San Antonio's iconic Riverwalk, one of the city's most beloved attractions. Known for its stylish suites, the hotel takes inspiration from San Antonio's rich history and vibrant culture, creating a unique and memorable experience for all guests. As part of HEI Hotels and Resorts, a respected hospitality company committed to excellence, Hotel Contessa prides itself on offering exceptional career opportunities, employee development through free trainings, and a supportive work environment that values work-life balance. Associates at Hotel Contessa enjoy many perks including free lunch, a free bus pass or free parking, uniforms, and a fun and engaging atmosphere. The employer encourages diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from individuals with military experience, demonstrating a commitment to creating a workforce that reflects diverse backgrounds and talents.
The role available is for a beverage server, a key position in ensuring a hospitable and positive experience for guests. The primary responsibility in this role is to serve guests in a polite and courteous manner, promoting the hotel’s excellent food and beverage offerings. The beverage server will be responsible for maintaining proper setup and stock of the bar daily, including handling all beer, wine, spirits, and related supplies. Essential duties include preparing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, mixing and presenting drinks following standard recipes with portion control, and managing sales through a point-of-sale system for accurate billing. This position also requires adherence to all state, federal, and corporate policies related to the responsible serving of alcoholic beverages. In addition to serving guests, the beverage server manages cash transactions, secures cash banks, locks up equipment, and participates actively in maintaining a safe and well-organized work environment. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, basic food and beverage knowledge, strong mathematical abilities, and physical dexterity. Effective communication and a commitment to teamwork and customer service are critical to delivering a seamless guest experience. While hotel experience is preferred, individuals excited about hospitality and ready to grow their career are encouraged to apply, especially those who can adapt to a dynamic and multicultural environment.
Hotel Contessa offers this opportunity as a non-tipped position without eligibility for discretionary performance bonuses, but provides an inclusive benefits package through HEI Hotels and Resorts. These benefits include competitive medical and dental insurance plans, vision coverage, vacation, sick, and holiday leave, pet insurance, life and disability insurance options, 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and various employee discounts. The company supports professional development and work/life balance, making it an attractive employer in the hospitality industry. If you are passionate about hospitality, possess keen attention to detail, and want to be part of a team that values diversity and inclusion, Hotel Contessa welcomes your application to join their dedicated and sassy team.
