Job Description

Team DriveAway is a versatile transportation company that operates across multiple divisions such as Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom, providing flexible driving opportunities nationwide. This company specializes in over-the-road (OTR) transport services, connecting drivers with a variety of loads that accommodate different schedules and preferences. As an established player in the logistics and transportation industry, Team DriveAway offers quality opportunities for independent contractor drivers seeking a dynamic and autonomous work environment.

This role is designed for independent contractors rather than company drivers or owner/operators, empowering drivers to choose the loads they want to transport, thereby maintaining control over their work schedules. Drivers are afforded the flexibility to run between two to five loads per month, making it an excellent option for those seeking a balance between work and personal life. Compensation ranges competitively from $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge, depending on the driving division and load specifics. Additionally, drivers can benefit from same-day pay availability once all the necessary paperwork and logs are approved, ensuring quick and reliable compensation.

The role requires a strong commitment to safety and compliance. Drivers utilize the MOTIVE app for accurate, daily DOT log maintenance, with paper logs strictly prohibited. Team DriveAway’s independent contractors are expected to stay engaged by completing 3 to 5 loads monthly and checking in with dispatchers weekly, even when not actively transporting loads. The loads typically range from 300 to 800 miles, offering a balanced workload with manageable distances. Though the company carries the "Team" name, these drivers operate solo and are not involved in team driving arrangements.

Bonus incentives add further value to this role, including referral bonuses, clean inspection bonuses, mileage bonuses, load bonuses, and safety bonuses. This comprehensive bonus structure demonstrates the company’s commitment to rewarding top-performing drivers who demonstrate responsibility and professionalism.

Drivers must possess a valid CDL Class A or Class B license, with specific endorsement requirements for decking positions, including Double/Triple (T) endorsements. A minimum of one year of verifiable OTR CMV driving experience within the last three years is required, and decking roles require additional experience in decking and un-decking trucks. A clean driving record along with a stable employment history is mandatory. The job calls for drivers to provide documentation such as DOT numbers from previous employers and companies transported for verification purposes. Additionally, drivers must bring their own tools and equipment needed for decking and un-decking trucks.

Professionalism, punctuality, and consistent communication with dispatch are vital elements for success in this role. Drivers are responsible for fuel management during transport and must maintain proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections with accurate photo documentation of every load. The use of MacroPoint for Truckers ensures transparent real-time load tracking, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Lastly, drivers must have escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance, ensuring accountability and protection throughout the contract period.

This independent contractor role is entirely OTR-based, not local or regional, which means drivers can travel across states in a variety of routes that best fit their schedules. The position is strictly contractor-based with no traditional employee benefits offered. This opportunity suits experienced drivers looking for autonomy, competitive pay, and flexible scheduling in a trustworthy and bonus-driven environment.
