Job Description
Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffee industry, renowned for its commitment to quality, community, and culture since its founding in 1971. Starbucks Reserve, a specialized segment within Starbucks, elevates the coffee experience through unique and high-end flagship locations, Reserve Stores, and Reserve Kitchens across the United States. These venues celebrate the craft of coffee making and provide an immersive atmosphere that fosters a deep sense of belonging and connection among customers and partners alike. Known for fostering extraordinary leadership, Starbucks emphasizes passion, service excellence, and a commitment to its core values and guiding principles.
The role of Operations Lead at Starbucks Reserve Experience Bar in the New York Roastery is critical in upholding the brand's prestigious standing by ensuring operational excellence during scheduled shifts. This position supports the efforts of operations managers, associate managers, and specialists by executing store functions that maintain the high standards expected throughout the store. The Operations Lead embodies Starbucks’ mission and culture while guiding the team to deliver legendary customer service and remarkable products. This role involves multifaceted responsibilities, including managing busy periods, mentoring new partners, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and security protocols, and maintaining smooth store operations consistently.
An Operations Lead must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a calm demeanor under pressure while anticipating customer needs and facilitating a premium Starbucks Reserve experience. The position requires an individual who excels in teamwork and communication, fosters positive working relationships, and actively contributes to the store's dynamic energy. Additionally, the Operations Lead is instrumental in storytelling and promoting the Starbucks Reserve Kitchen brand, enhancing both customer engagement and partner pride. The role also involves compliance with cash handling, regulatory laws (including alcohol service), and maintaining attendance and punctuality, reflecting the company's high operational and ethical standards.
Starbucks values employees who bring customer service experience from retail or restaurant environments and those flexible with working early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. Physical capability to carry up to 35 pounds, commitment to health and safety, and strong interpersonal and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role. Preference is given to candidates who display attention to detail, a strong work ethic, the ability to lead others, and proficiency in multiple languages.
Starbucks offers competitive pay aligned with geographic norms and a comprehensive benefits package that supports partners and their families, including medical, dental, vision, and various insurance options, paid parental leave, vacation time accruing from the start, disability coverage, holiday pay, 401(k) plans with company match, and financial well-being resources. Furthermore, partners have access to full tuition coverage through Arizona State University’s online degree program, student loan management, and additional educational support. Starbucks maintains an inclusive hiring process and is committed to equal employment opportunity. The company also provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities upon request, exemplifying its dedication to a diverse and supportive workplace environment.
