With a commitment to excellence, MH Imaging has grown its practice, necessitating the recruitment of a Medical Imaging Patient Care Coordinator to join their Middleton, WI location. As a Medical Imaging Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the daily functioning of the practice by interacting directly with patients and referring professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, and assisting with administrative tasks that enhance patient and physician experience. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, as you will serve as the first point of contact for patients arriving for imaging services, ensuring a welcoming and efficient process.
The role demands a friendly, caring, and helpful attitude, combined with efficiency to manage front office duties effectively. You will be responsible for verifying patient demographic information, processing payment plans and copays, pre-certifying exams with insurance companies, and handling sensitive requests such as release of information. Supporting Medical Imaging Technologists by acting as a liaison between them and patients will be essential to facilitate smooth operations within the clinic. You will also manage communication flow, maintaining liaison relations with referring physicians and ensuring that all essential information, including patient reports, is accurately delivered.
This position requires a person who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to constant changes. You must be detail-oriented, reliable regarding attendance, and possess the ability to prioritize duties effectively. Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years front office medical experience preferred
- must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- desire to work within a team environment
- must be able to speak English
- medical terminology knowledge strongly preferred
- able to operate computer and copier/fax machines
- familiarity with insurance plans and ability to determine patient responsibility totals
- bi-lingual a plus
- radiology reception experience a plus
Job Duties
- creates and ensures a positive experience for each patient and every referring office by working in a manner that is friendly, caring, helpful and efficient
- greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services, registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays
- answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
- daily calling and scheduling patients for which current orders exist
- pre-certifies exams with patient’s insurance company
- submittal of charges to billing company
- handles release of information requests from patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys and insurance companies
- supports Medical Imaging Technologists to ensure highest patient satisfaction and acts as liaison between technologists and patients waiting for exams
- maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
- arranges transportation for patients when appropriate
- maintains front office lobby area such as straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and general office cleanup
- communicates effectively with patients, referring doctors, their staff members, coworkers and radiologists
- ensures delivery of all information to those who need it including patient reports to referring doctors
