Job Description
Tommy Bahama is a globally recognized island-inspired lifestyle brand known for its premium casual wear, home decor, and accessories, as well as an immersive dining experience that captures the essence of island living. Established with a vision to bring the spirit of the islands to life, Tommy Bahama has become a beloved name that embodies relaxation, luxury, and laid-back elegance. The brand operates a collection of restaurants and bars that offer guests a unique dining experience infused with tropical flavors, scratch cuisine, and handcrafted cocktails, all within an ambiance that transports visitors to a serene island paradise.
Employment at Tommy Bahama is not just a job; it is an opportunity to live the island life every day while contributing to an extraordinary guest experience. As a leader within the restaurant team, the role focuses on fostering a culture of aloha spirit, teamwork, and service excellence. You will act as an ambassador of the brand, inspiring your team to deliver world-class food and service that exceed guest expectations. This position offers a rewarding career path with opportunities to grow within culinary, front-of-house, and management teams. Salary details are competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance Tommy Bahama places on its team members and their development.
The role involves hands-on leadership in the kitchen, ensuring the culinary team maintains the highest standards in food preparation, presentation, and service. You will help create a relaxed yet efficient destination for guests by promoting ongoing learning and training among kitchen staff. This includes coaching on proper cooking techniques, knife skills, time management, and recipe adherence to maintain consistent quality and enhance sales and service outcomes. Comprehensive knowledge of all food menus, ingredients, and preparation methods is essential, as is active participation in daily operational tasks like opening and closing the Expo Station.
As a key leader, you will facilitate training programs and provide meaningful, constructive feedback to encourage team growth and professional development. Open and honest communication is valued, supporting a collaborative work environment where every team member feels empowered to contribute. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and budgetary guidelines in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Co-managing team meetings and aligning kitchen expense management with business goals are critical components of this role to ensure operational success.
Your work will actively support and enhance the Tommy Bahama dining experience by balancing efficiency and creativity. Walking the line between management and hands-on participation, you will play a vital role in crafting memorable guest moments that keep customers coming back. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in high-volume culinary or hospitality settings, possesses relevant food safety certifications, and demonstrates strong communication skills alongside a passion for excellence in food service.
Joining Tommy Bahama means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workplace that respects and values differences, offering equal employment opportunities to all. The company is committed to accommodating applicants needing assistance with the application process and participates in E-Verify to ensure employment eligibility. This is a unique chance to work with a brand that is not only synonymous with island luxury and leisure but also dedicated to professional growth, team collaboration, and delivering unforgettable island-inspired dining experiences.
