One of its celebrated venues is Morimoto Asia, located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, at Disney Springs. Morimoto Asia is a vibrant pan-Asian dining destination helmed by the acclaimed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The restaurant is known for its unique blend of modern elegance and cultural authenticity, offering guests innovative Asian flavors in a stunning two-story space that features everything from stylish lounges to intimate private dining rooms. This dynamic setting attracts a diverse clientele who appreciate quality cuisine, immersive atmospheres, and impeccable service.
Delaware North, with more than 100 years of history, is a family-owned enterprise that operates worldwide in various sectors including sports arenas, national parks, casinos, hotels, and retail. Their approach to business emphasizes people, both customers and employees, promoting career growth, professional development, and an inclusive working environment. The company’s extensive footprint provides employees with unique opportunities to grow their careers in hospitality, gaming, operations, and retail across multiple settings.
The full-time Cook position at Morimoto Asia offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 and is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and working in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment. The role is critical in maintaining Morimoto Asia’s reputation for excellence by ensuring the preparation of high-quality food that meets stringent quality standards and adheres to all health and safety regulations. Responsibilities include following precise recipes, maintaining proper food temperatures, managing food storage, and ensuring workstation cleanliness and organization. The Cook will also be involved in waste control and inventory management, upholding efficient kitchen operations from opening to closing shifts.
The job demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods, often in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels. Successful candidates will have at least one year of experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice role, the ability to read prep sheets and recipes accurately, and basic math skills to follow recipe measurements correctly. There is no formal education requirement such as a high school diploma or GED, making the position accessible to a wider range of applicants.
Employees at Delaware North receive a comprehensive benefits package designed to support their personal and professional well-being. Benefits include weekly pay, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, flexible work schedules, and eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance. Additional perks may include a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, an employee assistance program, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement.
Working at Morimoto Asia within the Delaware North family means joining a dedicated team where a positive guest experience is paramount. The company fosters an inclusive culture that values diversity and equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, or other legally protected statuses. With shifts available during days, evenings, holidays, weekends, and options for 8 or 10-hour shifts, the role offers a flexible yet structured work schedule that caters to different lifestyles and commitments.
In summary, this Cook role combines the excitement of working in a high-end, culturally rich dining environment with the stability and benefits of a seasoned global hospitality leader. It is ideal for culinary professionals seeking to grow within a supportive company that values both skill and character, offering opportunities for ongoing learning and development in the dynamic hospitality industry.
