Job Requirements

  • previous cooking or food preparation experience
  • cafeteria, institutional, or commercial kitchen experience preferred
  • knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • strong attention to consistency, quality, and cleanliness
  • dependable, punctual, and professional
  • ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as required

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook daily menu items according to established recipes and production schedules
  • ensure food is prepared, held, and served in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • set up, stock, and maintain assigned kitchen workstations
  • monitor food quality, freshness, and proper temperatures throughout service
  • assist with receiving, labeling, storing, and rotating food products using FIFO practices
  • maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces
  • support opening and closing kitchen procedures as assigned
  • work collaboratively with cafeteria team members to meet daily service needs
  • contribute to a positive, efficient, and professional work environment
