The Life Enrichment Director role at The Springs at Sunnyside is integral to furthering this mission. The role involves planning and implementing impactful and meaningful activities aligned with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, which include Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, Environmental, and Financial wellness. The Life Enrichment Director is expected to go beyond simply organizing activities; they must create memorable experiences that bring purpose and joy to the daily lives of the senior residents.

The ideal candidate will be visionary, a natural leader, and dedicated to excellence in service delivery. They must be nurturing not only to the residents but also to the staff and families, inspiring all involved to adhere to high standards of quality and compassionate care. Responsibilities include leading the monthly programming across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services, involving residents and families in program planning and participation when possible, and ensuring that life enrichment staff receive continuous education and professional development. The role also entails overseeing community decorations for special events, coordinating transportation with the team, driving community vehicles safely, and assisting with departmental budget development and expense monitoring.

This position demands creativity, empathy, humor, discretion, and excellent communication skills, as these traits are key to fostering connection and community amongst residents and staff. Candidates are expected to maintain professional certifications such as Personal Training Certification, CPR, and First Aid. Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in wellness and activities programming in a senior living community
  • 3-5 years of experience in team leadership
  • ability to pass drug screening
  • ability to pass criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in wellness and activities programming in a senior living community including designing and facilitating all aspects of a comprehensive program
  • must have 3-5 years of demonstrated experience leading teams
  • the applicant must pass a drug screen and criminal history check at the time of hire

Job Duties

  • Leading the preparation and delivery of monthly programming for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care
  • including the resident and/or family in planning and participation in programs whenever possible
  • assuring all Life Enrichment staff are consistently educated and trained through new employee training, ongoing education, and professional development
  • informing residents of daily activities through various mechanisms
  • planning, coordinating, and assisting with tasteful community decorations for special events and holidays
  • consulting with and supervising the Life Enrichment team members
  • coordinating transportation needs related to various events and activities with the Transportation team
  • driving community vehicles safely to and from destinations and according to the activity schedule as necessary
  • assisting with the development of the departmental budget and monitoring monthly expenses as budgeted
  • maintaining professional certifications including Personal Training Certification, CPR, and First Aid
