The Kitchen Utility Worker position at Sunrise Senior Living is an essential role that directly contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized dining and kitchen environment. This role involves supporting kitchen and dining operations by ensuring that all sanitation and food safety standards are met consistently. Responsible for dishwashing, maintaining kitchen equipment cleanliness, and assisting with food preparation, the Kitchen Utility Worker helps to ensure a smooth and hygienic food service operation. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.21 to $19.01, depending on experience and qualifications. Beyond standard duties, the Kitchen Utility Worker will also assist in dining room cleanliness, table resetting, and light meal service when required, which helps enhance the dining experience for seniors. The role demands adherence to OSHA standards as well as Sunrise's internal safety policies, ensuring that the workplace remains compliant and secure.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- basic understanding of sanitation and safety standards
- good communication skills
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in kitchen sanitation or dishwashing preferred
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment
- good physical stamina to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
Job Duties
- Set up and maintain dishwashing and pot washing areas
- operate dish machines and ensure proper sanitation procedures
- wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils and glassware
- complete and maintain temperature, sanitation and equipment logs
- clean kitchen equipment including ovens, fryers, mixers and refrigerators
- perform janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal and sanitizing surfaces
- assist with food prep and plating as needed
- support proper storage, labeling and rotation of food and supplies (FIFO)
- maintain safe storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- assist in dining room cleaning, table resetting and light meal service when assigned
- follow all OSHA, food safety and Sunrise safety standards
