As a Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk, you will play a vital role in driving culinary excellence within a fast-paced, high-volume, scratch kitchen environment. Reporting closely to the Executive Kitchen Manager, you will lead the execution of a uniquely inspired menu that complements Cooper's Hawk wines, ensuring every dish meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. Your leadership will extend to overseeing one to two kitchen departments such as dish, prep, or line, maintaining strict adherence to culinary and safety standards and utilizing various management tools including POS, scheduling software, and inventory systems. Developing and training kitchen team members will be a key aspect of your position, as will collaborating with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service. Your role also involves assisting with special initiatives like menu roll-outs, private events including monthly Wine Club dinners, and contributing to weekly inventory and labor management. The Kitchen Manager is expected to embody Cooper's Hawk's values by fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and pride in workmanship. Job Requirements
- minimum age of 21 years
- ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
- must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per shift
- must have ability to work 50-60 hours per week
- must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules including weekends and some holidays
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience in high volume kitchen in a full-service restaurant environment
- scratch kitchen experience preferred
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- demonstrates financial acumen
- proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- preferred certifications include ServSafe and state/local licensing requirements
Job Duties
- Oversee 1-2 kitchen departments including dish, prep, and/or line
- maintain a professional image and uphold Cooper's Hawk culinary and safety standards
- use tools like POS systems, scheduling software, ordering/inventory systems, and Microsoft Office to stay organized
- assist in executing new menu roll-outs, kitchen initiatives, and private events including monthly Wine Club dinners
- help hire, train, and develop hourly kitchen Team Members on kitchen standards
- ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and kitchen policies
- assist with weekly inventory and labor management
- foster strong collaboration between kitchen and front-of-house teams
- lead department meetings and coach Team Members
- partner with Executive Kitchen Manager and General Manager to achieve restaurant goals
- support your team with the tools and training they need to succeed
- ensure every dish meets high standards and enhances the guest experience
- empower your team to take pride in their work and deliver exceptional food
- contribute to a kitchen environment that inspires excellence
