The role of Kitchen Leader at Chipotle is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for individuals passionate about food quality, team leadership, and customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position focuses on preparing delicious food, grilling meats, and sauteing vegetables while ensuring all food meets Chipotle’s stringent quality and safety standards. Kitchen Leaders maintain well-stocked and organized kitchens, ensure kitchen equipment is in proper working order, and oversee food waste and inventory levels. Beyond operational duties, this role also involves mentoring and training crew members to develop their skills and become future Kitchen Leaders themselves. Kitchen Leaders serve as role models for their teams, encouraging collaboration between back-of-house and front-of-house staff to create an efficient, positive work environment. They support Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy by upholding the company's standards in every aspect of food preparation and service. This role is physically active, requiring the leader to be on their feet, accomplishing station goals, identifying tasks that need attention, and helping teammates whenever necessary. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Restaurant experience
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy
  • Knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Ability to work on feet and assist in various kitchen tasks
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house crew and front of house crew
  • Developing crew members to be future kitchen leaders
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
  • Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all crew members meet necessary guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
