Job Description
Universal Orlando Resort is a renowned entertainment destination located in Orlando, Florida, offering a wide range of immersive theme parks, resort hotels, and entertainment experiences. As part of Universal Destinations & Experiences, Universal Orlando is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through innovation, creativity, and operational excellence. The resort is home to some of the most beloved attractions and dining venues, requiring a diverse and highly skilled team to maintain its reputation as a world-class destination. Known for its vibrant work environment and commitment to employee development, Universal Orlando offers numerous opportunities for young professionals and students to gain valuable industry experience through its internship programs.
The Spring 2027 Internship for Baking and Pastry within the Food & Beverage department at Universal Orlando Resort is an exceptional opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Baking and Pastry or Hospitality Management. This seasonal internship runs approximately from January 2027 through April 2027 and provides a comprehensive, hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-volume culinary environment. Interns will receive mentorship and direct supervision from the Executive Chef and senior management, offering a unique 360-degree perspective on culinary operations within a major theme park setting. This position is an in-person role based in Orlando, designed to immerse interns in the day-to-day workings of the resort’s diverse Food & Beverage operations.
In this role, interns will gain exposure to various kitchen formats including full service, quick service, and fast casual dining locations, allowing them to understand the extensive scope of culinary services provided at Universal Orlando. A particularly exciting aspect of this internship is the opportunity to work in the state-of-the-art Production Kitchen and Bakery, where foundational ingredients and prepared desserts for the entire resort are crafted. The program encourages creativity and innovation, culminating in a project where interns collaborate with the Research and Development team. This project often involves creating a dish showcased at marquee events or seasonal menus, with the chance to present their culinary creations to high-level executives such as the VP of Culinary Operations and the Executive Chef Team.
The internship also emphasizes collaboration across departments, including Human Resources, Finance, and Food Equipment Technology, providing interns with a well-rounded experience that extends beyond culinary skills to include project management, communication, and teamwork. Interns will also be trained in Universal Orlando’s Environmental, Health & Safety procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. This program is ideal for students who are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop professionally in the hospitality industry within a globally recognized company. Applications for this internship close on June 26, 2026, and applicants must submit their transcripts and demonstrate strong academic standing to be considered. This paid internship offers a significant stepping stone for students aiming to build a career in baking and pastry arts or hospitality management in a dynamic and supportive environment.
