This job opportunity is based at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 2621 S 47th St in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a full-time, non-management position within the Engineering & Facilities department, with an hourly wage of $21.60. The role focuses on maintaining the comfort, safety, and cleanliness of guest rooms, meeting spaces, and common areas to ensure a positive experience for all visitors. The primary duties involve performing preventive maintenance tasks such as inspecting mattresses and bed frames, cleaning upholstery and carpets, patching wall holes, and conducting minor repairs like adjusting toilet seats and replacing light bulbs. Additionally, the position requires general cleaning responsibilities and vigilant reporting of any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors. Weekend availability is preferred to support the hotel's continuous operations.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- perform planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas including mattress and bed frame inspections, vacuuming behind and under furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, dusting and touch-up painting
- maintain, repair and clean all guest rooms according to property preventive maintenance procedures and standards
- carry out minor miscellaneous repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and filling wall holes
- perform general cleaning of all surfaces in guest rooms including tubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows and mirrors
- immediately report major maintenance problems, unusual findings or safety hazards to the manager or supervisor
- comply with all company safety policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions, and undergo safety training and certifications
- adhere to company policies and maintain clean, professional appearance and confidentiality
- greet and recognize guests according to company standards and anticipate service needs
- develop positive working relationships with others and support team goals
- perform physical tasks such as reaching above head, bending and lifting items up to 50 pounds independently
- assist in moving objects weighing more than 50 pounds
- stand, sit or walk for long periods during shift
- perform other reasonable work duties as requested
