As a Hot Prep Cook at Orlando Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in the culinary team by preparing all hot food items for both patient and non-patient food services. This position requires adherence to specific production plans and recipes as directed by the Executive Chef, Food & Nutrition Supervisor, or the Production Leader. The Hot Prep Cook position focuses on delivering high-quality food preparation in a fast-paced, healthcare environment. Working in a hospital setting demands a strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, including compliance with HAACP guidelines. Moreover, the role requires collaboration with culinary leadership and peers to maintain smooth kitchen operations and ensure that patients' special diet needs—such as puree meals and supplements—are accurately met.

Job Duties

- apply basic food preparation techniques such as receiving, storing, preparation, and holding of food items
- demonstrate knowledge of food service sanitation and infection control procedures including HAACP guidelines
- communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and food service team
- assist in other kitchen areas such as cold prep, bakery, storeroom, café serving line, dish room, or tray line
