Job Description
Paws Up is America's premier luxury ranch resort, epitomizing the spirit of the American West. As a family-owned and award-winning destination, Paws Up offers an unparalleled experience that combines rustic charm with modern luxury. Nestled in a breathtaking natural setting, this resort provides guests with a variety of activities and amenities that capture the essence of ranch life while delivering world-class service. Known for its commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction, Paws Up has created a unique, inspiring environment that appeals to travelers seeking both adventure and tranquility in a refined atmosphere.
The role of a Hostess-Host at Paws Up is a vital part of maintaining the high standards and exceptional guest experience for which the resort is renowned. This position is responsible for greeting and engaging guests in a warm, professional manner from the moment they arrive. The Hostess-Host coordinates guest reservations using OpenTable, ensuring smooth seating arrangements and prompt service initiation. Starting at $18 per hour with possibilities for wage increases based on experience, this role offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic hospitality team.
A Hostess-Host at Paws Up must be attentive to detail and service quality, welcoming each guest by politely addressing them by name or managing arrival party details to ensure personalized service. Key duties involve guiding guests to their tables that are pre-set according to their party size and preferences, assisting with coats when appropriate, and offering beverages such as sparkling or still water to begin the dining experience. Maintaining a clean and organized host stand, promptly responding to guest and management requests, and assisting with dining room preparations and service support are fundamental aspects of this role.
The Hostess-Host also plays a significant part in communication between front-of-house and kitchen or management staff, reporting table statuses and daily cover counts to ensure efficient restaurant operation. This role demands a friendly yet professional demeanor even under pressure, as it involves interacting with many guests and being the first and last point of contact during their visit. Paws Up seeks individuals who have foundational experience in food and beverage service, preferably within fine dining or resort settings, along with an understanding of world-class hospitality standards.
This position also requires individuals to possess a valid Food Handler's License and State Driver’s License to meet operational requirements. Proficiency in multitasking and maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment are essential skills. Paws Up values team members who demonstrate excellent organization skills, prioritize workloads effectively, and maintain a positive, professional attitude in all guest and team interactions.
Joining Paws Up as a Hostess-Host offers numerous benefits, including a $250 referral bonus, employee lunch provisions, an Employee Assistance Program, merchandise discounts, carpool reimbursements ranging from $5 to $20 per day, and ample opportunities for career development and advancement. The resort is dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics. This commitment ensures a supportive workplace culture where all employees can thrive and contribute to delivering exceptional guest experiences consistently.
