The role of Host at Wings 'N More Restaurants is a vital part of the guest experience, acting as the initial point of contact between the restaurant and its patrons. This part-time position requires a friendly and outgoing individual who can greet guests warmly, make them feel welcome, and manage seating arrangements efficiently. The host must accommodate special seating requests, balance customer flow to various service stations, and maintain communication with servers to ensure that guests receive prompt and attentive service. A significant portion of the host’s duties revolves around cleanliness and orderliness, ensuring that the entrance, lobby, dining room, and restrooms meet the company’s high standards of hygiene and presentation.

In addition to greeting and seating guests, hosts at Wings 'N More assist servers by maintaining and stocking service areas and supporting the overall flow of the dining room. When necessary, the host is responsible for taking food and beverage orders for takeout customers and efficiently entering those orders into the point-of-sale system. The host's final interaction with guests involves expressing gratitude and inviting them to return, helping to build loyalty and repeat business. Flexibility is also key in this role, as hosts are expected to perform side work at the start and end of shifts and fill in other positions as directed by management to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • availability to work part-time hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • strong communication skills
  • basic math skills to handle payments
  • ability to work well in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Greet all arriving guests warmly and promptly
  • accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
  • seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
  • when immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party
  • provide guests with estimated waiting time
  • call out name and number of party when tables become available
  • upon seating, offer guests a menu
  • inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
  • relay messages to servers as needed
  • maintain clean entrance, lobby, dining room, and restrooms
  • assist servers in maintaining and stocking service stations
  • transport bus tubs with dirty dishes to dish room if dish machine if needed
  • clean and reset tables promptly
  • clean chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet
  • take food and beverage orders from guests requesting take out service
  • enter orders in our point-of-sale system
  • thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned
  • be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
