Job Description

Blue Skies of Texas is a distinguished senior living community rooted in a deep legacy of service and commitment to retired military officers and senior citizens. Established in 1970 with the opening of Air Force Village I campus in San Antonio, and later expanded with Air Force Village II in 1987, the community has long been synonymous with friendship, support, and dignity. Each campus provided a unique environment rich in camaraderie and shared experiences, especially for officers and widows of those who served. In 2014, Blue Skies of Texas expanded its eligibility to include a broader spectrum of retired seniors from various backgrounds beyond military careers. This strategic move enriched the community and introduced the new names Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West, reflecting a renewed and inclusive mission.

Today, Blue Skies of Texas continues to uphold the tradition of offering modern residences paired with senior-focused services and amenities designed to enhance the lives of residents at every stage. The community thrives on values of respect, care, and trust, fostering a vibrant environment where residents feel family-like bonds and dedicated support. With a focus on healthcare excellence, the organization operates Assisted Living, Dementia & Alzheimer Care, Hospice, and Skilled Nursing facilities, each committed to delivering personalized care that meets the unique needs of seniors. Part-time employment opportunities extend benefits to team members, including generous paid time off, employee assistance programs, and recognition bonuses, reflecting the importance Blue Skies of Texas places on supporting its workforce.

The Hospitality Aide position at Blue Skies of Texas skilled nursing department is integral to maintaining the high standards of resident care and community environment. Under supervision of licensed nurses, the Hospitality Aide contributes by assisting residents with daily needs, ensuring hygiene and safety within the living spaces, and supporting kitchen and dining operations. This role is designed for compassionate individuals who are attentive, proactive, and committed to the well-being and comfort of each resident. Responsibilities include handling linens, meal preparation and serving, sanitation, and engaging residents in social activities.

Also vital is the aide’s participation in maintaining sanitary conditions in resident rooms and common areas, supporting infection control protocols, and facilitating communication between residents and healthcare teams when changes in condition are observed. The role requires competence in managing equipment, monitoring supplies, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Hospitality Aides contribute to a warm, respectful atmosphere that helps residents enjoy a quality of life marked by laughter, dignity, and care.

Through teamwork and ongoing training, the Hospitality Aide grows professionally while making a meaningful impact. Blue Skies of Texas encourages prospective candidates who value service and empathy to join their mission of excellence in senior living care. Part-time benefits include an employee referral bonus program and biannual appreciation bonuses, reinforcing a culture of reward and appreciation. If you are motivated to enhance the lives of seniors in a supportive environment, this opportunity at Blue Skies of Texas offers a fulfilling path to professional and personal growth.
