Job Description

Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community is a well-established organization dedicated to providing exceptional care and a vibrant community environment for senior residents. Established originally in 1970, the community has grown and evolved over the decades, beginning with Air Force Village I in San Antonio and expanding with Air Force Village II in 1987. This community was initially formed to serve officers of the armed forces, offering a retirement lifestyle that celebrates camaraderie, mutual respect, and a shared sense of purpose. Over time, the community broadened its eligibility to include a wider range of retired seniors, including those from civilian careers, leading to a rebranding as Blue Skies of Texas with two campuses now known as Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West.

Today, Blue Skies of Texas continues its legacy by combining modern residences with comprehensive senior-focused services and amenities. The organization operates multiple healthcare facilities, including Assisted Living, Dementia & Alzheimer Care, Hospice, and Skilled Nursing, providing a supportive environment where residents can feel like family. The team values diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and talents, cultivating an inclusive workplace where employees are respected and appreciated.

The current employment opportunity is for a Hospitality Aide within the Skilled Nursing department at the Blue Skies of Texas campus known as The Mission. This role is essential in supporting residents' day-to-day needs under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The Hospitality Aide performs duties they are competent in, ensures the safety and sanitary conditions of residents' environments, and communicates effectively about any unusual conditions or changes in the resident's behavior or appearance. This position allows dedicated professionals to make a meaningful impact on the quality of life for seniors through compassionate care and attention to detail.

The Hospitality Aide's responsibilities cover a wide range of tasks, including meal service and kitchen duties, resident engagement through activities, maintaining cleanliness in the living spaces, managing inventory and supplies, and supporting resident safety and comfort. The role requires teamwork, excellent communication, and a professional attitude in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Training and compliance with established procedures are integral to the position, ensuring that the care provided meets regulatory and safety standards.

Blue Skies of Texas supports its part-time employees with benefits designed to enhance their work experience and personal well-being. These include an Employee Assistance Program, an Employee Referral Bonus Program, a generous Paid Time Off plan, and Employee Appreciation Bonuses awarded twice annually. These benefits underscore the organization’s commitment to creating a positive work environment where employees feel valued and motivated.

The position requires certain certifications and qualifications, such as proof of completion of a Texas Food Handlers Program within 60 days of hire, basic knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office, and proficiency in English for communication. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior long-term care experience, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. This job is ideal for individuals passionate about serving seniors and interested in a supportive workplace that recognizes the importance of quality care and community engagement.

Candidates interested in joining a respected senior living community with a history of service and dedication to its residents are encouraged to apply. Blue Skies of Texas reviews applications promptly and contacts highly qualified applicants directly. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful legacy in senior care and join a team committed to excellence and compassion.
