Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a kitchen leadership role
  • Experience with Asian-Pacific cuisine preferred
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Eligibility to obtain visa to work in the US

  • Experience in culinary leadership within an Asian restaurant concept
  • Proven track record in kitchen leadership and people management
  • High standards for food quality and presentation
  • Strong organizational skills with impeccable record keeping
  • Commercial mindset with ability to support financial performance
  • Creativity in menu design and food creation
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure kitchen environment
  • Desire to learn and progress towards executive chef role

Job Duties

  • Lead the kitchen operations at Kaia on a daily basis
  • Work with the Executive Chef to oversee food production and presentation
  • Compile daily mise-en-place and ensure quality standards
  • Support team recruitment, development, onboarding, and performance management
  • Monitor food quality and provide coaching and feedback
  • Maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment and uphold food safety standards
  • Prepare meat, fish, sushi, poultry, and vegetables
