Job Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- walk, stand and move about the kitchen and dining facility to ensure compliance with SOP
- some bending and stooping
- occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machines, etc
- constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer
- must be flexible with scheduled working times
Job Qualifications
- Strong culinary background
- certificate in food handling/sanitation methods or ServSafe certified preferred
- good customer service skills
- demonstrated history of related food service experience preferably with a major institution or the military with high volume food production
- great leadership and communication skills
- ability to maintain highest standards and implement company policies
Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time
- reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
- typically performs fast food cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to customers
- provides the highest quality of service to customers
- follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
- prepares foods by operating kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, shredding fruits and vegetables, trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use
- tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
- may select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies, and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets
- cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all company, client and regulatory rules and procedures
- conducts nightly, weekly, and monthly inventory
- places orders for food and supplies
