Job Description

Eataly is the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace, renowned for its unique blend of authentic Italian culinary experiences and high-quality products. Unlike typical chain establishments, each Eataly location carries its own distinct character and thematic elements, creating an immersive marketplace that celebrates the rich traditions of Italian cuisine and culture. At Eataly, guests can indulge in a wide variety of experiences including dining on traditional Italian dishes at full-service restaurants, grabbing quick bites and specialty items from cafés and to-go counters, shopping for premium Italian, local, and homemade products, and learning through engaging classes and the knowledgeable expertise of the Eataly team. The vibrant atmosphere of each Eataly marketplace offers something special for every visitor, from freshly brewed coffee and artisanal pastries to hand-crafted gelato, pizza, focaccia, and paninis, making it a hub for those passionate about authentic Italian food and culture. The role of General Manager of Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) at Eataly is a pivotal leadership position responsible for directing and managing the day-to-day operations of the QSR departments within an Eataly location. This role involves close collaboration with the Retail and Full-Service Restaurant teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience across the entire marketplace. Reporting directly to the Director of Store Operations and functionally to the Director of QSR Operations, the General Manager oversees a diverse team including QSR Assistant General Managers, QSR Service Leads, hourly Sales Associates, and Baristas. The primary objective of this role is to maximize profitability while upholding Eataly’s mission, values, and high standards of quality and guest service. The General Manager is entrusted with building and leading a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, motivation, evaluation, development, and retention efforts. Key responsibilities include organizing QSR operations to optimize schedules, manage labor costs, and drive sales performance. The manager is also responsible for executing strategies related to pricing, merchandising, product launches, and promotional initiatives. Careful financial analysis and management of cost of goods sold (COGS) and labor expenses are critical components of this role, ensuring sustainable business growth. Additionally, the General Manager prepares weekly operational reports, collaborates with senior leadership and corporate teams to develop growth strategies, and manages inventory procurement and verification to meet quality and specification standards. Beyond operational management, this role involves direct assistance with payroll, employee scheduling, and managing employment transitions such as terminations. Handling employee and guest concerns through documentation, investigation, and resolution is also a key part of daily responsibilities. This comprehensive role demands strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and business management skills to maintain the exceptional standards for which Eataly is known. The position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 and emphasizes a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and compliance with equal employment opportunity policies. Working at Eataly means being part of an innovative and authentic Italian food marketplace dedicated to providing memorable dining and shopping experiences while fostering a vibrant community for both guests and employees.
