The General Manager role at Catbird Rooftop combines visionary leadership with meticulous operational management. Reporting directly to the Director of Restaurant, Bars, and Events, this position is pivotal in driving the restaurant’s overall success. The General Manager will lead all day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless execution of superior service standards and adherence to brand expectations. This role demands a hands-on leader who is well-versed in every aspect of the business, from menu knowledge to compliance regulations.

As the face of the establishment, the General Manager fosters a culture of hospitality rooted in warmth and personalized attention, engaging actively with guests to build loyalty and enhance satisfaction. Managing reservation strategies and table flow will be essential to maximize revenue and maintain the vibrant rooftop atmosphere synonymous with the Catbird brand.

Financial stewardship is a core responsibility, including analyzing sales and labor data against budgets and forecasts, driving revenue through innovative programming, and implementing cost-control measures. The General Manager cares deeply about the financial health of the operation and takes full ownership of profit and loss, ensuring sustainable growth.

Another critical aspect of the role is the leadership and development of a high-performing team. The General Manager recruits, hires, and nurtures talent within the hospitality sector, conducts performance reviews, leads daily team meetings, and upholds an inclusive, positive work culture that reflects the company’s core values of empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation, and wellbeing.

This full-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the dynamic demands of the business. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive food and beverage management experience
  • Proven leadership success in upscale, high-volume environments
