Job Description
Wendy's is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain recognized for its fresh, square-shaped hamburgers and commitment to quality service. Established in 1969, Wendy's has grown into one of the largest quick-service hamburger chains worldwide, famous for its signature menu items like the Baconator and Frosty. The brand prides itself on providing a welcoming and friendly environment for customers, while consistently maintaining high standards in food preparation, cleanliness, and customer service. Each restaurant functions as a vital part of its community, emphasizing not just food quality but also an inviting and efficient experience for guests.
Working as a General Manager at Wendy's offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. The role is pivotal in ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly on a daily basis, under the supervision of a District Manager. The General Manager is charged with managing all aspects of the restaurant's operations. Duties include creating and managing staff schedules, maintaining day-to-day financial controls, interviewing and training new team members, and ensuring comprehensive coaching and development for all staff. Moreover, the General Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining health and safety standards, including proper food handling practices and preparation for health inspections.
General Managers are expected to foster a "Customer First" attitude, creating service experiences that encourage guests to return. This leadership position requires a strong commitment to team building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to drive business performance and employee satisfaction. Candidates for this role should be adept at balancing operational metrics with financial goals while offering a high-quality customer and employee experience. The position typically demands physical activity, including standing and moving throughout the shift and the ability to operate restaurant equipment such as registers and grills.
Wendy's invests in its General Managers through paid training programs focused on the "Wendy's Way" of management, including the necessity to obtain SERV Safe certification by the end of training. Career growth opportunities abound, extending beyond restaurant management into broader roles within Wendy's corporate structure or franchise network. Employees also enjoy a competitive pay structure with monthly bonuses, alongside benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer match. Additional perks include an employee discount program and free meals while working.
This role is offered by Wendy’s franchisee operations, which are independently owned and operated. Therefore, compensation, benefits, and career advancement options may vary according to the franchise. The Specific location for this position is at 4001 I-35 South, San Marcos, TX 78666. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and complies with all laws regarding nondiscrimination and accommodation for individuals with disabilities. Ideal candidates are at least 21 years old, can pass background checks, have reliable transportation, and are authorized to work in the country.
