Job Description
Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through its diverse portfolio of hotel brands. One of its standout brands, Courtyard by Marriott, is designed specifically to meet the needs of business travelers, offering a seamless and comfortable environment that empowers guests regardless of the purpose of their journey. Marriott International values diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity employment, fostering a welcoming environment where every associate’s unique talents and backgrounds are celebrated. This inclusive culture is a core strength that drives innovation and excellence across all levels of the organization.
Located in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, the Courtyard hotel at 651 Fountain Rd is currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a full-time, non-management position that offers an hourly wage of $17.25. The role plays a crucial part in ensuring the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of hotel guests by maintaining the guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas to the highest standards. The Maintenance Technician will conduct planned preventive maintenance tasks, including mattress flipping and inspection, bed frame assembly, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing carpet and upholstery stains, dusting, paint touch-ups, furniture upkeep, appliance and lighting fixture replacement, and grout inspection and caulking.
The technician is also responsible for performing minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, replacing light bulbs, and filling wall holes. A thorough cleaning is expected across all guest room surfaces, including bathtubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors. Prompt communication with management regarding any significant maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards is essential. Employees must strictly adhere to the company's safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete required safety training, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Moreover, the Maintenance Technician will engage in delivering courteous guest service by anticipating and responding to guest needs, fostering positive working relationships, and supporting the team to achieve common goals. The job requires physical activity such as reaching above head height, bending, twisting, dragging, and the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier loads. Continuous standing, sitting, or walking throughout the entire shift is also part of the daily routine.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have less than one year of related work experience. No supervisory experience or licenses/certifications are required for this role. Marriott International's commitment to equality and non-discrimination ensures that all qualified applicants will be considered regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
Joining Courtyard by Marriott means becoming part of a passionate team that strives to meet and exceed the needs of travelers worldwide. It is an opportunity to grow professionally within a global company that supports career advancement and personal development. Marriott International empowers its employees to bring their best selves to work, fostering an environment where every individual can thrive, innovate, and contribute to the brand's continued success.
