With a strong foundation rooted in service and a commitment to making a positive impact, Aramark is dedicated to supporting its partners, communities, and the planet. The company's mission centers on doing great things for each other and those they serve, fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunity. Aramark values its employees and recognizes that every individual should have the chance to develop their talents, pursue their passions, and achieve professional growth in a supportive and engaging environment.
The role of Food Service Manager at Aramark is a dynamic management position focused on overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu. This position requires a strong leader who can develop and implement effective dining solutions that meet diverse customer needs and tastes. The Food Service Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality finished products to customers. In this role, the manager will lead the front of the house operations, such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities, in close collaboration with the Food Service Director to create a seamless dining experience.
The Food Service Manager will employ Aramark's proven coaching model to engage and develop their team members, helping them reach their fullest potential. Recognizing the importance of motivation, this leader will reward and recognize employees for their contributions while ensuring that both individual and team performance align with company objectives and client expectations. Daily team briefings are led by the manager to communicate goals, updates, and performance expectations clearly.
A critical aspect of the role is maintaining stringent safety and sanitation standards to provide a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees. The manager must ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, and regulations related to health, safety, wage, and hour laws. Effective client relationship management is also essential; the manager will identify client needs, communicate operational progress, and foster mutually beneficial business relationships.
Financial oversight is a key responsibility, including ensuring the accurate completion and maintenance of profit and loss (P&L) statements. The Food Service Manager will be accountable for meeting both client and company financial targets and adopting company processes and systems to understand performance metrics and data. They will educate their teams on order and inventory trends and the key levers necessary to improve margins.
Productivity and operational excellence remain at the core of this management role. The Food Service Manager will bring value through efficient dining operations, effective cost control, and profit management. They will supervise the team regarding production quality and operational control while ensuring all team members are well-trained and capable of executing their duties effectively.
At Aramark, employees are encouraged to develop new skills and embrace flexibility to meet the demands of their roles. Job duties may evolve over time to adapt to client needs and organizational goals. This commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability ensures that Aramark remains a leader in the food service industry while providing exceptional service experiences and fostering a positive working environment.
