Job Description
HEI Hotels and Resorts is a distinguished management company overseeing an extensive and unmatched portfolio of leading full-service branded hotels as well as luxury and lifestyle independent hotels throughout the United States. Specializing in upper-upscale, luxury, and premium select-service hotels located in urban, super-suburban, and destination areas, HEI has established itself as a premier expert in hospitality management. The company prides itself on its commitment to its employees, whom it regards as its greatest asset. HEI believes that where people choose to work is a significant decision, and it takes this responsibility seriously by providing competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and industry-leading tools, training, and support to empower its associates to excel in their roles. This strong focus on investing in people and valuing their contribution makes HEI a highly sought-after employer in the hospitality industry.
The Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training (MIT) Program offered by HEI Hotels and Resorts is a unique and accelerated career development opportunity tailored specifically for recent college graduates eager to launch their careers in hospitality management. This program spans 12 months and immerses participants in every aspect of the Food and Beverage discipline, including hands-on experience in various roles across hotel outlets, banquet operations, and culinary departments. During this time, participants shadow seasoned leaders and complete shifts in multiple positions, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry and its operational nuances. The program is designed not only to provide a solid foundation in food and beverage management but also to prepare participants for a successful long-term career with HEI Hotels and Resorts.
Participants in the Food and Beverage MIT program will have the opportunity to engage in departmental and leadership meetings, develop proficiency with essential hospitality management systems including property management systems (PMS), and learn to utilize labor management tools critical for scheduling and controlling labor costs effectively. They will be trained to maintain a high standard of customer service by understanding each step of service across all meal periods and learning to address and resolve customer issues proactively. The program emphasizes compliance with HEI’s Food and Beverage Standard Operating Procedures and Policies to uphold quality and consistency. This comprehensive training ensures that graduates of the MIT program are well-prepared to take on management roles within HEI’s portfolio soon after completing the program. HEI promotes inclusivity and diversity, encouraging candidates who may not meet every requirement but are enthusiastic about the role to apply. Additionally, HEI honors and values the experience of U.S. military veterans, welcoming them to bring their skills and perspectives into the organization.
Regarding compensation, the Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training Program offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $25.00 and eligibility for tips or service charges, making it a competitive and attractive option for recent graduates. Furthermore, the program offers flexibility for placement in various locations, providing valuable experience and career growth opportunities within one of the nation’s leading hotel management companies. Ultimately, this program not only enhances participants' operational skills but also fosters leadership development, empowering them to become successful managers in the hospitality field with the backing of a company deeply invested in their growth and success.
