Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • bachelor’s degree with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition or related field preferred
  • prior experience in professional culinary training or fast-paced high-volume fine dining restaurant or catering facility
  • must have experience in volume feeding, ala carte, fine dining, catering, baking and pastry, purchasing storage and handling
  • must acquire and maintain valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens training and other required compliance trainings
  • ability to perform the GILA WAY (greet, interact positively, listen actively, appreciate guests)
  • excellent guest service skills and strong telephone etiquette
  • self-starter with ability to follow up and complete tasks with minimum supervision
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • must have or obtain within one year in-depth knowledge of enterprise policies, governmental regulations and technical rules relevant to responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests
  • responsible for management of the assigned kitchen operation
  • ensures training of assigned shift kitchen staff is conducted in a timely manner
  • communicates job descriptions and company policies to shift employees
  • reviews all sanitation and production charts for the kitchen operation
  • maintains fiscal controls for profit and loss purposes
  • performs other special projects and duties as assigned
