The Assistant Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager at Kessler Hospitality plays a vital role in supporting the coordination, supervision, and management of all functions related to the F&B outlets. This full-time, yearly salaried position demands a dynamic individual who can maintain profitability while delivering exceptional product quality and service excellence. The Assistant F&B Manager is responsible for promoting business growth, reducing employee turnover, managing revenue and payroll budgets, and achieving budgeted productivity standards without compromising quality. Maintaining guest satisfaction is paramount, alongside ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.

The role requires active engagement on the floor during meal periods, direct supervision of outlet personnel, timely problem resolution, and collaboration with other F&B managers. Additional responsibilities include managing loss prevention measures, preparing operational reports such as payroll and revenue tracking, assisting in menu planning, conducting staff performance evaluations, and administering employee training programs. The Assistant F&B Manager is also involved in recruitment for front-of-house positions and adheres to corporate policies on employee and guest interactions.

This position demands excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to listen attentively and respond to concerns effectively. Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Or a 4-year college degree
  • Or a 2-year college degree with 1 or more years of related experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Experience conducting staff performance reviews
  • Knowledge of local liquor laws and health regulations
  • Ability to train employees and conduct interviews
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of hospitality operational standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must maintain professional appearance and grooming

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the F&B outlet
  • Supervise outlet personnel
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Work with other F&B managers and keep them informed of issues as they arise
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring attention
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of Loss Prevention in the outlet
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner
  • Ensure preparation of reports including Wage Progress, payroll, revenue, employee schedules, and quarterly action plans
  • Monitor quality of service in the F&B outlet
  • Assist in menu planning and preparation
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws and health and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and requisition procedures in all outlets
  • Be visible on the floor and assist staff during meal periods
  • Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with company standards
  • Ensure training of employees on SOPs and technical job tasks
  • Participate in departmental and hotel training programs
  • Interview candidates for front-of-house F&B positions
  • Complete tip reporting
  • Implement and monitor corporate promotions including buffet and three-meal concept standards
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
