Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years culinary experience as Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong menu planning and leadership skills
  • Financial knowledge including P&L statements
  • Organized and proactive with attention to detail
  • Proficient with computers and POS technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to read computer monitors and print legibly
  • Able to bend, kneel, sit, or stand for extended periods
  • Able to lift and push up to 40 lbs
  • Willingness to work irregular shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in high-volume kitchen setting
  • Two-year associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong menu planning abilities

  • Demonstrated financial acumen with profit and loss statements
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, POS systems, and technology

Job Duties

  • Ensuring the needs of the guests are accommodated
  • Ensures the general cleanliness of the heart-of-house and entire venue
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training new applicants
  • Responsible for scheduling, team member growth, and development
  • Works with General Manager to create job performance reviews
  • Oversees heart-of-house operations including safety, quality, and financial profitability
  • Manages regular service, catering, take-out, delivery, and events
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of operational systems including payroll and inventory
  • Participates in reviewing monthly Profit & Loss statements
  • Ensures compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
  • Coaches and develops team members with clear guidelines
  • Maintains mechanical systems in good working order
  • Ensures adherence to heart-of-house standards and procedures
  • Prepares and delivers menu-focus items for daily meetings
  • Maintains station recipe books
  • Organizes and develops new recipes for menu items and specials
  • Completes opening and closing procedures
  • Ensures expediting standards
  • Communicates clearly with team during service
  • Assists in equipment and furniture maintenance
  • Leads and participates in training sessions and meetings
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the venue and Tao Group brands
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team
  • Completes additional assigned tasks as needed
